About Us

Carol started Carol's Catering over 25 years ago. She began catering for private functions, weddings etc. Word of mouth soon got the business into corporate catering. Joanne, Carol's daughter, joined Carol and her small team some five years later. Ian, now Joanne's husband, joined the ever-growing business 18months later. Since then the team has expanded, employing local people, some of whom have been with us for over 15 years.

We at Carol's Catering take our responsibilities to our customers, our staff and the environment very seriously.

Our staff are vital to the continued success of the business and that's why we strive to train our people to the highest standards in hygiene, food preparation and customer service.

Us and the environment

We have recently started making a big effort to cut down on our waste. The organic waste is taken to local allotments to be composted, and in one month alone we recycled 2400 litres of plastics and metals, 120 litres of cooking oils and 4000 litres of paper and cardboard, produced in our kitchens. On large functions we also offer a service which removes plastics paper and cardboard from your venue.

Health & Hygiene

Health and hygiene is very important to us, and helps us maintain our high standards. We are one of a small number of family run caterers in South Yorkshire to attain the 5 star award in the government run “Scores on the doors” food hygiene ranking system. (See our listing) The procedures we use are in excess of environmental health standards. We operate a full traceability system; we can retrieve information about any buffet we have produced up to two years previously, detailing where the ingredients came from, the temperature when they were delivered to us, batch codes for recipes used, items each buffet contained, even to the time and temperature each buffet left our kitchens.

Ingredients

We insist that all our suppliers offer us a reliable service, with a good price for quality ingredients. All our cooked meats are 100% meat, not plastic looking shavings. Raw meats are locally sourced, with chicken we insist on breast meat and for mince we either use steak quality beef or again chicken breast meat.

Our mayonnaise is made from free-range eggs. Our fruit and vegetables are selectively sourced from different suppliers so we can get a great tasting product at a good price, helping to keep our prices competitive.

Our Services

All our buffets are delivered in temperature controlled vehicles, by uniformed staff. We will deliver your food not just to your building but to your required office or seminar room (not just drop it on reception and leave you to it). We set out the buffet on tablecloths, with plates, serviettes, juice & glasses and supply any cutlery required. We even leave a black bag for rubbish if you don't require us to return and clear up.
